BANDA: Lucknow: Jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, was shifted from Banda jail to Banda Medical College on Tuesday morning. Ansari ‘s health significantly deteriorated, leading to his admission at Banda Medical College.
Ansari, currently lodged in Banda jail, was found unconscious near the toilet prompting authorities to transfer him to the medical college.
Director General, Prisons, SN Sabat confirmed TOI admission of Mukhtar Ansari to Banda Medical College.
Doctors at the medical college said that Ansari complained of pain in abdomen and unable to pass stool for five days. “Ansari has been admitted and treatment has began. Paitient is stable currently,” said a senior doctor of the medical college.
According to sources, Ansari, who has been lodged in Banda jail, experienced chest pain accompanied by severe nervousness and restlessness, along with profuse sweating, before being swiftly transferred to Banda Medical College.
Ansari, currently serving time in Banda jail, has faced convictions in eight cases within a mere 18-month span. Two cases were of life term. He was shifted to Banda jail in April 2021 on the directions of the Supreme Court from Ropar jail in Punjab.
