Three senior citizens, including a woman, were killed and 20 others suffered injuries in an accident near Kakol in Ranebennur taluk of Haveri district in Karnataka on October 16 evening.

The victims are Chamansab Kerimattihalli (65), Mabusab Doddagubbi (65), and Ningamma Jigaler(70) of Malebennur in Davangere district.

All the injured are being treated at Ranebennur taluk hospital.

According to the police, the victims and the injured persons had gone to a wedding in a mini-transport vehicle. The accident occurred when they were returning home. The driver reportedly lost control and hit a tractor-trailer parked by the roadside near Kakol,.

Ranebbur Rural police have registered a case.
