A case relating to a fatal foodborne botulism outbreak in Russia last year has been sent to court by prosecutors.

The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has approved the next steps in a criminal case against Vladimir Shin, Anton Lozin, Elena Mashkova, and Karim Normatov. The case has been forwarded to the Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow for consideration.

Charges relate to the production and sale of food products that did not meet safety requirements, which resulted in the death of two people. Shin is also accused of illegal registration of foreign citizens.
