In an exclusive interview with India Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin asserted that US President Donald Trump sincerely aims for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict.

Speaking ahead of his India visit, Putin said, “Regarding the situation in Ukraine, yes, let me repeat once again. I am absolutely certain, with no doubt at all, he sincerely aims for a peaceful resolution. Let me stress once again. The United States may have various reasons for this. Humanitarian ones, personally for Trump, because he genuinely wants to end hostilities and prevent further loss of life.But there could also be political interests tied to ending the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine. Or economic motives, too.”
