Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan asked the Srisailam temple officials to give priority to improving basic facilities in the town in view of surge in devotees vising the temple.

Mr. Ramachandra Mohan, who visited the temple on Tuesday, reviewed the development works at Srisailam and instructed officials to take up the works in a planned manner. The Commissioner asked the officials to immediately commence works on the temporary queue complex and complete the same within the next three months.

“Construct a permanent queue complex that would cater to the increasing pilgrim flow in the next 30 years,” he said. He asked the officials to beautify the main road from Gangadhara Mandapam to Nandi Mandapam and also to prepare proposals for construction of an accommodation facility for common devotees near Ganesh Sadan.

Mr. Ramachandra Mohan directed the officials to take up restoration works of the ancient structures in the temple compound including the Nandi Mandapam, Vruddha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple mandapam and also the entrance of Sri Bhramaramba temple. He wanted the officials to take up massive plantation drive as part of environment protection. He suggested that planting of trees like ‘Bilva’, ‘Raavi’ and others should be prioritised for the same.

The Commissioner also reviewed the Annaprasada distribution, Gosamrakshana, administration, audit, accounts, sanitation and other aspects of the temple. He suggested the increase of Siva Sevak services and to provide a facility for interested devotees to register for the seva in the temple website.
