IHeartMemphis Arrested Again Days After Being Released

According to NBC6, officers responded Tuesday, February 17, to reports of the rapper causing a disturbance in the street. When deputies arrived, they found IHeartMemphis, whose real name is Richard Maurice Colbert, on his cellphone and posting to social media, allegedly violating the terms of his previous arrest.

Authorities said the ‘Hit the Quan’ rapper fled the scene when deputies attempted to take him into custody. Investigators allege he entered neighboring homes through fenced backyards and screened-in patios while trying to avoid arrest.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office later located and arrested Colbert with help from its aviation unit and K-9 teams. Officials advised residents in the area to remain indoors during the search.

IHeartMemphis Back In Custody Just Days After His “Fresh Out” Clip Surfaces

Earlier this month, the ‘Hit the Quan’ rapper was arrested after barricading himself inside his home and livestreaming a standoff with SWAT officers for several hours. Authorities charged him at the time with making written or electronic threats to kill and resisting an officer without violence.

Colbert was released on bond Saturday, Feb. 14, following that arrest.

Shortly after his release, videos circulated online showing the rapper speaking about being “fresh out,” despite reports that he was not permitted to use social media under his release conditions.
