The majority of people who start a home-based business are unfamiliar with food safety regulations, according to a Dutch survey. Such operations are increasingly being allowed in the United States without any food safety oversight.

The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) have created an information campaign to improve the situation. The video explains which rules apply, how start-ups can prepare for safe operations, and how they can register with the NVWA.
