The Masked Singer first aired in January 2019, and it has since followed the same release schedule. However, will that change in the future? For the unversed, for most of its spectacular run, The Masked Singer has followed the same format, with makers airing two seasons per calendar year, one in the spring and one in the fall. However, that pattern ran from 2019 through 2024, with Fox shifting its strategy in 2025. The Masked Singer aired only one season last year, from February 2025 to May 2025.
The show then took a break and did not return until Season 14 premiered in early 2026. Will they follow the same pattern for this year as well? The details are yet to be confirmed. Nonetheless, at the time, Fox executives said the decision was intentional. During a conversation with Deadline, Fox Entertainment CEO, Rob Wade, in May 2025, revealed that The Masked Singer was the first show to return during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He added that it was incredibly exhausting for the crew and the cast, yet they managed to give The Masked Singer their best. Fox Entertainment CEO, Rob Wade, revealed that it was time for The Masked Singer to give its people some space to breathe so they could recalibrate and come back with renewed energy and creativity. He added that the network has not ruled out returning to two seasons per year in the future. He was quoted as saying:
“A lot of people forget that Masked Singer was actually the first show back during Covid. My point is it was incredibly taxing on that crew and that cast, and they’ve done a phenomenal job… It just felt like the right time to give the show and the very, very hardworking people involved in it a little breathing space to regroup creatively. But it’s not intended at the moment just to become a one-season a year. But we’ll make a decision on that as it comes up.”
While Fox has not yet confirmed Season 15, The Masked Singer’s fans are hopeful about the show returning for its two-season cycle in 2026. However, till the makers share an official announcement, everything remains unclear. In the past, renewal announcements have sometimes come before the finale airs or shortly after the season ends. That means a season 15 announcement could still happen soon, even if it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
