Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday tore into the Congress and the Left, saying that while they dismiss everything — from Kerala Story to Dhurandhar — as lies, it is they who have “become pros at lying.”
Addressing a rally in Kerala’s Tiruvalla, the Prime Minister said, “The LDF and UDF have become pros at lying. They said Kerala Story is a lie, they said Kashmir Files is a lie, they said Dhurandhar is a lie.”
Further sharpening his attack on the Opposition, Modi said the Congress and the Left had become a “factory of lies,” accusing them of spreading panic over recent amendments to the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
“These days, they are spreading lies about the FCRA and UCC. Goa has had a UCC for decades, but they are spreading lies about it. They also did the same with the CAA. They are in the business of spreading lies,” he added.

PM Modi also accused the party of endangering the lives of nearly one crore Indian migrants living in Iran and Gulf countries by making “provocative” remarks at home. Addressing a public meeting, PM Modi claimed that the Congress is willing to jeopardise the safety of these migrants for electoral gains and criticised the party for provoking tensions in West Asia. He warned that such irresponsible remarks could affect India’s “strong standing” in the Middle East.
“To win elections, to hurl abuses at Modi, the Congress is ready to sit back and put the lives of 1 crore migrants in jeopardy,” he said. He pointed out that Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu, Goa, Kerala, Telangana, and Puducherry working in Iran are currently at risk. The government is actively engaged in rescuing them, with hundreds already returning safely to India. “Their lives are precious to us,” he added, urging the Congress to apologise to the people of Kerala for what he termed as selfish politics.
At the same rally, the Prime Minister further alleged that the Congress wants West Asian countries to view India as an adversary.
“The Congress wants the West Asian countries to consider India as their enemy, that we should make some mistake here, give some statement like that, and trouble befalls Indians living in the Gulf countries, so the Congress is giving statements that anger the Gulf countries,” he said.
PM Modi accused the party of spreading panic and creating opportunities to criticise his leadership.
“I want to tell the people of Congress, LDF, UDF that politics has its place, elections will come and go, but for me, the safety of the lakhs of Keralites there is the priority, and I am committed to that.”
He acknowledged the concerns arising from the ongoing conflict in the region and assured continuous government support to Indians stranded in the Gulf. “In these circumstances of war, I understand your concern. Therefore, I am in constant contact with the leaders of the Gulf countries, we are continuously talking with the governments there,” he said.
Despite the challenges posed by the war, PM Modi emphasised that the government is providing all possible assistance to Indian nationals in the Gulf and Iran.
He offered reassurance to the families of Indians living in the Middle East, stating, “I assure all of you family members that your son, your daughter, your relatives, even if they are far from you, are not alone; the Government of India is with every Indian living in those countries.”
LEFT, CONGRESS TWO SIDES OF SAME COIN: PM
PM Modi also addressed the ongoing accusations between the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF), stating that both alliances are blaming each other for having ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He remarked that both fronts accuse one another of being the BJP’s ‘B-team,’ while acknowledging that the saffron party is the ‘A-team’ in Kerala.
He alleged that the LDF and UDF share a “secret partnership” and are essentially two sides of the same coin. According to him, this explains their consistent targeting of the BJP, comparing their rivalry to a staged fight similar to that of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).
On the issue of the missing gold from the Sabarimala temple, Modi claimed that the LDF and UDF colluded to tarnish the image of the pilgrimage. He further stated that the temple has now become “a target of their loot.”
The Prime Minister asserted that once the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) assumes power in Kerala, both fronts will be held accountable for their alleged wrongdoings related to the Sabarimala temple.
Modi also accused the LDF and UDF of spreading falsehoods about several matters, including the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and films such as Kashmir Files and Kerala Story. He suggested that dishonesty has become a common practice for both political coalitions.
