In a heartwarming revelation, Mrunal Thakur has opened up about the key role Ranveer Singh played in the beginning of her Hindi film career. While Mrunal is now a household name with a string of successful projects across various languages, she recently shared that her journey into Bollywood was influenced by a chance collaboration with Ranveer. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Mrunal did not hold back her gratitude. Mrunal referred to Ranveer as her lucky charm, explaining that he is a major reason for her presence in the film industry today.
Recalling her early days, Mrunal shared that she first worked with Ranveer on a commercial for a hair brand where she appeared as a model. She said, “My heart is happy. He is my lucky charm. He is the reason why I exist in this industry in the first place.” According to her, it was the visibility from this specific advertisement that caught the eyes of filmmakers. She added, “When that commercial hit the screens… it was then that filmmakers started noticing me. That is how I give my credit to him.” Praising his personality, she mentioned, “This man has really helped me. Such a positive person—he deserves all the success.”
Mrunal’s admiration for Ranveer isn’t limited to his support of her career. She is also a massive fan of his acting prowess. She recently spoke about his performance in the blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where he plays the character Hamza. Mrunal was impressed by the complexity he brought to the role. She explained, “The acting was not surface level. It had depth and layers. I didn’t watch it as Ranveer Singh. I only saw it as Hamza… it was more of a character than a hero.”
Expressing her pride in his achievements and his reputation for being one of the most hardworking actors in the business, she said, “I just feel incredibly proud of Ranveer because he is so hardworking. I pray and wish that whatever he does should be a blockbuster! He can do everything.” On the work front, Mrunal will next be seen in Dacoit which also stars Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap. The film releases in cinemas on April 10.
