The Tamil Nadu government has told the Madras High Court that its February 20, 2026 order, directing the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) to register a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the cash for jobs allegation in Minister K. N. Nehru’s Municipal Administration and Water Supply department, suffers from errors apparent on the face of the record.

In a review petition filed before the first Division Bench of Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan, the government said: “there are some legal infirmities in the judgement dated February 20, 2026 which are against the settled principles of law and the statutory provisions under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), 1988.”
