On April 7, 2026, a source close to Aubrey Plaza confirmed to the People Magazine that she is expecting her first child nearly one year after her ex-husband, Jeff Baena passed away. Hours after the good news dominated headlines, the actress was spotted walking on the streets of New York City.Â
The White Lotus actress, Aubrey Plaza was on a walk with her dog when her photos went viral on social media. Talking about her outfit, Aubrey was seen wearing a casual polo shirt with white sweatpants. She completed her look with black sunglasses. It is worth mentioning that this is the first time the actress was spotted flaunting her baby bump.

Talking about the pregnancy news, a source close to the actress had a conversation with People Magazine, during which the source shared that this is the best thing that has happened to Aubrey after having an emotional year. For the unversed, Aubrey’s ex-husband, Jeff tragically passed away in January 2025. The source was quoted as saying:
“It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year. They (Aubrey and Chris Abbott) feel very blessed.”

If reports are to be believed, Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott first met in 2019, while working on the film, Black Bear. In the movie, the two played two intense characters, stuck in a love triangle. Their chemistry sparked dating rumours. Later, the duo reunited in 2023 for the play, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.Â
Soon after Aubrey’s divorce with her now-deceased husband, the dating rumours involving the actress and Christopher intensified. However, it was only in April 2026, that the couple confirmed their relationship. It is worth mentioning that if reports are to be believed, the couple often made multiple public appearances, including the New York Fashion Week in February 2026 and Paris Fashion Week in March 2026.

Before finding peace in Christopher Abbott, Aubrey Plaza was in a relationship with filmmaker, Jeff Baena. Reportedly, the couple met in 2011 and soon formed a strong connection. Apart from this, the duo also worked on multiple projects like Life After Beth and The Little Hours. The couple reportedly got married in 2021, in an intimate ceremony. However, in September 2024, they filed for a divorce.Â
It is worth mentioning that the reason behind their divorce has not been disclosed. Months after the divorce, in early January 2025, Jeff tragically passed away at the age of 47 in Los Angeles. Authorities later confirmed that he committed suicide. In August 2025, Aubrey spoke about her grief and comparing it to a horror movie, she shared:
“In the movie (The George), there’s a cliff on one side and a cliff on the other side then there’s like a gorge in between and it’s filled with all these monster people that are trying to get them. I swear when I watched it I was like, that feels like what my grief is like. At all times there’s a giant ocean of awfulness that’s right there and I can see it. Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. But it’s like a daily struggle, obviously.”
