The recent developments suggest that BTOB’s name will not only be permissible on broadcasts and social media but also extend to merchandise and album-related branding, aligning with standard industry practices.
This marks a significant contrast to the ‘Highlight’ incident, where B2ST faced name restrictions and eventually rebranded as Highlight. BTOB’s ability to resolve this matter amicably with Cube Entertainment is expected to dispel any lingering concerns among fans and industry observers.
An official from Cube Entertainment affirmed, “Initially, we did not place any restrictions on using the group name during broadcasts or performances. And we are also proactively approaching other matters in accordance with industry practices. Cube Entertainment also supports the new journey of BTOB, who have been with us for 11 years”.
In the aftermath of BTOB’s contract expiration with Cube Entertainment, the members are strategically approaching their comeback both as a group and individually. Changsub has already secured an exclusive contract with Fantagio, while Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, and Peniel have opted to sign with different companies. As BTOB charts this new chapter, the positive resolution regarding their group name adds optimism for the group’s future endeavours.
