BJP spokesperson emphasised that the summit was ‘not a BJP event’ but an ‘event for the country’, accusing the Congress of maligning India’s reputation on a global stage. The protest, which featured shirtless demonstrators targeting the Prime Minister, has been linked by BJP leaders to a high-level plan involving the Gandhi family. The ruling party alleged that the demonstration was orchestrated to defame the international summit, which has already faced scrutiny over reported mismanagement. The BJP further claimed that such actions prove a lack of nationalism, asserting that the reputation of the entire country was at stake during this prestigious international forum.
