The Congress has revived its ‘vote chori’ allegations — this time in Bihar. A day after the Mahagathbandhan suffered a humiliating loss in Bihar, the Congress accused PM Narendra Modi and the Election Commission of committing ‘vote theft’. “At the behest of Narendra Modi-Amit Shah, the Election Commission removed 69 lakh votes through SIR in Bihar. The people whose votes were removed were opposition voters. They were targeted and removed from the [voters’] list. This is clearly ‘vote theft’,” the party said in an X post.

Alleging voter duplicacy in BJP’s, the Congress said: “The entire country saw how BJP leaders and workers, even after casting their votes in different states, went to Bihar to vote. BJP workers first voted in the Delhi, Uttarakhand, Bengaluru, Haryana elections, and then, all of them voted in Bihar as well.”
It claimed that the BJP government at the Centre ran special trains, in which people were seen with BJP sashes around their necks. “These people were brought from different states to Bihar so that they could vote for the BJP,” the Congress said.

Sharing a video of LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary, the Congress alleged: “MP Shambhavi Choudhary of the NDA cast her vote and when she came out, it was seen that there was ink on the finger of both her hands.”

The party further alleged that the Nitish Kumar government gave out money to women despite the imposition of the code of conduct in Bihar. “Even after the code of conduct was imposed in Bihar, the Modi-Nitish government continued to send Rs 10,000 to women. These installments were sent particularly around the days of voting. However, the Election Commission took no action because they themselves are complicit in this ‘vote theft’.”
