NEW DELHI: A blaze erupted in a jhuggi settlement located in Rohini Sector 17 on Sunday morning, according to a Delhi Fire Service official. The department responded by sending 20 fire engines to the location.
The emergency call was received at approximately 11.55am, prompting the immediate dispatch of firefighting units.
“Firefighters are currently trying to douse the blaze and the operation is underway to bring the situation under control,” he said.
Dense smoke columns were visible rising from the affected area. Additional information about the incident is pending, the official noted.
