MUMBAI: Captain Vivek Chhabra, the chief flight operations inspector (CFOI) in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Flight Standards Directorate has been terminated. Captain Shweta Singh, deputy CFOI will hold the charge of CFOI in addition to her current duties until further orders, said a DGCA office order issued on Wednesday
Captain Chhabra was terminated on “administrative grounds and public interest”, said the termination letter, dated January 24 sent by Dinesh Kumar Rana, DGCA director (administration). Captain Chhabra had joined the DGCA in March 2021 as the CFOI on ad hoc basis and his contract was thereafter extended to June 2025.
