More than 200 people fell sick in a Salmonella outbreak in the Netherlands that went on for more than two years.
Between June 2023 and September 2025, there were 227 infections. It is the largest Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak ever reported in the Netherlands. However, since the outbreak likely had various sources, new cases continue to be detected.
