As the new year unfolds, 71% of Indians are gearing up to start afresh, leaving behind the baggage and hang-ups of the past, according to a nationwide study by Bumble. The survey sheds light on a new dating trend – ‘Clean Slating,’ where individuals aspire to embrace new beginnings by bidding farewell to past relationships and starting the year on a clean slate.
A per Bumble’s findings, making peace with the past is a prevalent sentiment, with 70% of Indians believing that letting go of past relationships before the new year contributes significantly to emotional well-being. ‘Clean Slating’ is seen as a powerful act, allowing individuals to open up to new experiences (69%) and build deeper connections (67%).
Reflecting on the study, Samarpita Samaddar, India Communications Director at Bumble, encourages singles to set their dating intentions right for 2024. Whether casual or seeking a long-term relationship, she advises users to be intentional about their dating goals and revamp their Bumble profiles for a fresh start. “Whether you’re looking for something casual, or want to go with the flow or you’re interested in finding a long-term relationship, now is the best time to set your dating intentions right.
