There have been several reasons that delayed the project, and one of them was one of the key characters, ‘Fezco’ aka ‘Fez’. ‘Fez’s role was played by Angus Cloud, who passed away at the age of 25 back in 2023. Euphoria, which premiered in 2019, follows ‘Rue’ and her schoolmates. ‘Rue’ (played by Zendaya) is a drug addict, and ‘Fezco’ is her drug dealer. It was in the last episode of season 2, when it was seen that ‘Fez’ was arrested during a raid at his home. Well, as he passed away in 2023, season 3 was expected not to have him. While this was the case, his presence is very much there in season 3. As in episode 1, season 3, it was shown that ‘Fez’ was serving a long prison sentence.
In season 2, ‘Fez’s’ romantic interest, ‘Lexi’ (played by Maude Apatow) was seen feeling guilty as she hadn’t spoken to him, but she kept on insisting that she had been busy. Well, now ‘Rue’ tells ‘Lexi’ that ‘Fez’ misses her while adding that he mentioned her several times. ‘Lexi’, who now works in a show for Hollywood, said ‘Rue’ that her and ‘Fez’ time just doesn’t sync that much. Angus Cloud was just starting his career, and Euphoria turned out to be a big break for him, which not only grabbed him attention but also made him one of the fan favourites. In an interview with GQ, Angus Cloud revealed back in 2019 that he was walking around Manhattan when someone from the team approached him, leaving him confused.
Angus said that he didn’t want to give that lady his number as he thought she was a scammer. However, things went down the right direction and Angus, with his role as ‘Fez’ grabbed significant attention.
However, after season 2, he passed away in 2023 due to overdoses of fen**nyl, co**ine, meth***hetamine, and more. His family, in a statement, revealed that Angus was affected by his father’s death, who passed away in May due to cancer. Speaking of Angus’s earnings from the series, if the reports are to be believed, he earned USD 10K to USD 23K per episode for her appearance in the HBO series, and before his demise, his net worth reached USD 5 million.
