Four held for hurling petrol bomb in Ranipet


The police arrested four persons on Tuesday in connection with hurling a petrol bomb at a house in K. Velur village near Arcot town in Ranipet last Sunday.

The accused have been identified as A. Mani, 19, S. Gokul, 20, B. Lokesh, 20, and C. Lakshman, 23 — all belonging to K. Velur. Initial inquiry revealed that Gokul and Mani had an argument and traded blows. Gokul sustained serious injuries to his hand.

Angered at this, Gokul’s friends Lokesh and Lakshman hurled a petrol bomb at Mani’s house and fled the spot.

No major damage to the house was reported.

Both Mani and Gokul lodged police complaints over the incident. The four persons have been arrested, and lodged at the Central Prison in Vellore.
