A shocking incident was reported from Gurugram, where a 38-year-old man allegedly jumped to death from the 23rd floor of a high-rise residential society along with his two-year-old daughter.
The deceased, identified as Rahul, was originally a resident of Delhi and had been living on rent with his family in a society in Gurugram. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at the ‘Joy Ville’ residential complex.
Police said they received information around 8 am about a man jumping from a multi-storey building in Gurugram’s Sector 102 near the Dwarka Expressway. When officers reached the spot, both Rahul and his daughter were found dead.
Rahul ran a school in Delhi’s Kirari area along with his wife, catering to students up to Class 5. Officials said he had been dealing with serious health issues and mental stress for some time and was reportedly undergoing treatment.
“The deceased had been dealing with serious health and mental problems for some time. At this stage, this appears to be a case of depression,” said Ashok Kumar, police spokesperson, Gurugram headquarters.
Though Rahul lived in Tower 9 of the society, he jumped from the 23rd floor of Tower 5 with his daughter. The police confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Both bodies were sent for post-mortem and later handed over to the family.
Ashok Kumar added, “Rahul’s mental distress appears to have been the reason behind this tragic act. We are continuing a detailed investigation to confirm all circumstances surrounding the case.”
The incident has left residents of Sector 102 shocked, with many expressing grief and concern over the well-being of families in high-rise apartments.
