The Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) fixture of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) is likely to be shifted out of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. The travel procedure for both teams is set to be impacted due to the closure of the Dharamsala airport amid heightened security due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
Following India’s military operation dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’, which targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), flight operations at several airports in northwest India have been suspended till further notice. Hence, the travel arrangements for both MI and PBKS has been massively impacted for the Match 61 of IPL 2025 set to be played on Sunday, May 11.
India Today has learnt that there are discussions about shifting the venue of the game from Dharamsala to the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Earlier, India Today reported that Mumbai Indians, who were scheduled to arrive in Dharamsala by May 8, are exploring alternate travel arrangements.
With both the Dharamsala and Chandigarh airports shut, the team may fly to Delhi and complete the journey by road, although an official update is still awaited.
