Amidst intense speculation of a leadership tussle in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has confirmed a second breakfast meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Speaking exclusively to India Today, Shivakumar dismissed rumours of discord, asserting, ‘Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and I are like brothers.’ When asked about the menu for the meeting, he quipped that it would feature ‘Nati chicken’ (country chicken). The Deputy CM also clarified that a visit to New Delhi is ‘still not planned,’ countering reports of a summons by the Congress High Command. This display of ‘breakfast diplomacy’ comes as the BJP threatens a no-confidence motion ahead of the winter session in Belagavi. The meeting aims to project unity within the Karnataka Congress following reports of a 2.5-year power-sharing agreement.
