Now, as per a new report, one of Sae-Ron’s family members had tried to attempt suicide due to the ongoing scandal involving the two actors.

For the unversed, the incident occurred in March 2026, and has raised a lot of worries among the fans. It was more than a year ago when Kim Sae-Ron took her own life at her home in Seoul in February 2025. She was just 24 years old, and reports claimed that she was forced to marry her American boyfriend. Her affair with Kim Soo-hyun was also a topic of concern.Â
Returning to late Sae-Ron’s family member, the attempt to end her life occurred shortly before the screening of her last film in Seoul. The other family members attended the screening. The report further states that the family is in constant distress due to continued public dispute and criticism around the case. The family also received a lot of backlash due to the dating scandal.
The report also stated that the family wants Kim Soo-hyun to publicly admit that he dated the actress when she was a minor. They even asked him to issue an apology for the late Kim Sae-Ron’s soul. They even stated that Kim Soo-Hyun’s legal team are adding to their stress by falsely accusing them of spreading lies and calling their evidence fabricated. An insider was quoted as saying:
“The current situation is extremely serious. Please stop the acts of criticising and insulting the bereaved family immediately. The family has already attempted suicide multiple times.”

On March 25, 2025, her rumoured husband spoke out through the Garo Sero Research Institute. In his statement, he mentioned that he met Sae-Ron in mid-to-late November 2024. They had a strong attraction towards each other within a short period of time. Within a few months of being together, they decided to get married in the USA on January 12, 2025.
Soon, they decided to void their marriage. Kim Sae-Ron’s husband clearly stated that they made the decision on mutual terms since they married too quickly, were in a long-distance relationship, and had different personalities. Kim Sae-Ron’s husband further revealed that the late actress was never pregnant. He stated that they were not thinking about having children, and she was on birth control pills. He continued that he never threatened her to marry her due to pregnancy.Â
