The finale of the Loksatta Lokankika Competition was held on Saturday with M L Dahanukar College, Dahanu, emerging victorious with their powerful one-act play, “Jab We Meta,” earning the title of Maharashtra’s Lokankika.
The second prize was claimed by “Vaman Aakhyan” from Modern College, Pune division, while the third prize went to “Thimmakka” by Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College from Thane division.
The grand finale took place at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi. Renowned theatre personalities and enthusiastic audiences from Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur and other regions gathered to witness the celebration of youth theatre.
The judging panel for the finale comprised director Pratima Kulkarni and acclaimed actors Sumit Raghavan and Makrand Anaspure.
Through this platform, young theatre artistes once again showcased their creativity and originality across diverse themes.
Renowned actress Ratna Pathak Shah, the chief guest for the event, addressed the young artistes, sharing valuable insights and lessons from her journey in theatre.
