Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge wrote on Saturday to Union home minister Amit Shah, informing him that Manipur PCC chief was “brutally assaulted and tortured” during a meeting of MLAs and MPs from Imphal valley convened by a group on Wednesday.
Kharge, who serves as leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, condemned the actions of a “non-state actor”, while alleging the “complete collapse of the administration” and expressing dismay over the PM Modi’s “silence and inaction”, which he described as “injustice to the people of Manipur”.
