Contestants from Group 2 of the Miss World 2025 pageant will visit the handloom village of Pochampally in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on May 15.

The event aims to highlight the globally acclaimed Pochampally Ikat tradition, offering an immersive experience into one of India’s finest textile legacies. Pochampally is renowned for its unique ikat weaving techniques and was recently honoured by UNESCO as the “Best Tourism Village of the World”.

During their visit, the Miss World contestants will witness the tie-and-dye process that defines the Pochampally Ikat. They will also interact with local master weavers and observe the making of the Telia Rumal, a rare double ikat textile once worn by the Nizams of Hyderabad.
