The body of a six-year-old boy who was missing since Saturday morning (December 27, 2025) was recovered from a pond near his house at Chittur in Palakkad district of Kerala on Sunday (December 28, 2025). The deceased has been identified as Suhan.

A search had been launched for Suhan, son of Mohammed Anas and Thouhida from Ambattupalayam, after he disappeared around 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination at the Government District Hospital here, which confirmed drowning as the cause of death.

Chittur municipal chairperson Sumesh Achuthan has demanded an investigation into the child’s death, stating that the incident was shrouded in mystery as the child could not have easily accessed the pond.
