Nevada has met the USDA’s “at least equal to” food safety standard, becoming the 30th state to implement the Meat and Poultry Inspection (MPI) Program.

Under the program, Nevada will expand its state inspection capacity with food safety oversight to boost market access for small and very small processors.

Nevada is the 30th state to join the MPI and the first since 2022 to be recognized with a cooperative agreement with the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
