In a historic event, President Droupadi Murmu undertook a sortie aboard the indigenous submarine INS Vagsheer at the Karwar Naval Base. The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces became only the second Indian head of state to undertake such a voyage, following Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in 2006.
