Rice recalled because of stones

Ben’s Original is recalling several varieties of its pre-packaged rice.

The affected products may be contaminated with stones, commonly found on rice farms, which could pose digestive risks if consumed, according to the company’s recall notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration.

The recall applies to the Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown, and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice products with a best by date of August 2026.

The recall is limited to only the following batch codes, which can be found at the bottom of the package:

  • 533ELGRV22
  • 534ALGRV22
  • 534AMGRV22
  • 534BMGRV22
  • 534DMGRV22
  • 533BMGRV22
  • 533CLGRV22
  • 533CMGRV22

The impacted rice was available at HEB, Target, United Markets, Amazon and Piggly Wiggly. Impacted retailers are not limited to those listed in the recall notice as additional retailers may have purchased products distributed by Associated Grocers, C&S, and Dot Foods from August through September.
