ROORKEE: A 70-year-old woman who was attacked by a pet American Bully over a week ago succumbed to her injuries late Friday evening at AIIMS-Rishikesh.
“The dog mauled my mother, biting her face, neck, hands and other parts of the body. They were all deep wounds and she even had a fractured in her hand. She was on a ventilator in AIIMS since the attackon December 8.As her jugular vein was slashed in the attack, she could not recover from her injuries and she passed away on Friday. Her postmortem is being carried out,” her son Sanjay Singh, 40, told TOI.
In a complaint to police, Sanjay alleged the dog belonging to Ranjot Singh, 24, of Dhandera locality attacked his mother when she was passing through the area to visit an acquaintance.
However, Ranjot Singh claimed the victim, a stranger, entered their house and the canine pounced on her.
