South Africa vs India: Sanju Samson roars back in form, smashes 4th ODI half-century in Paarl

India batter Sanju Samson roared back in form by smashing his fourth ODI half-century against South Africa in the third and final match of the series against South Africa at the Boland Park in Paarl.

Samson got to the 50-run mark off 66 deliveries by pushing South Africa pacer Beuran Hendricks for a quick single to deep third. This innings was a crucial one after India lost quick wickets in Paarl.

Samson came in to bat after the visitors lost the wicket of debutant Rajat Patidar, who scored 22 runs off 16 deliveries and fell at the hands of Nandre Burger. Soon after Patidar’s dismissal, B Sai Sudharsan also lost his wicket, after being caught LBW by Hendricks.

Following the two quick dismissal, Samson and skipper KL Rahul settled India’s inninsg with a 51-run partnership. However, Rahul could not build on the start and walked back to the pavilion after scoring a 35-ball 21.

Samson did not get to bat in the first match of the ODI series as India steamrolled South Africa in Johannesburg, winning the match by 8 wickets. He managed to score just 12 runs off 23 deliveries in the second match of the series, that South Africa won by 8 wickets.
