Two days after she filed a police complaint against her estranged husband — an RTO Inspector — a Range Forest Officer of Surat was found injured inside her car at Vav on Thursday. Later, she was admitted to a private hospital in Surat where doctors carried out an operation and removed a bullet from her head. According to doctors, she is still in critical condition. According to police, a passerby found her lying unconscious with head injuries in a car in Vav Jokha village in Kamrej taluka of Surat district. He informed her family members, who reached the spot and took her to a hospital in Surat.

The hospital sources said they carried out a CT scan and other tests and found an object inside her head. An operation was carried out at the hospital later in the day and the doctors removed the object, a bullet, from her head. Kamrej police reached the hospital after learning about the incident. Surat Superintendent of Police Bhavesh Gadhiya said, “A bullet has been removed from her head, but she is still in critical condition.”
