Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi receives 30 distress calls from J&K, Punjab

A day after Telangana government set up a 24/7 control room to extend assistance to people of the State in bordering States following heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, it was announced that eight people who were in from Jammu & Kashmir have reached Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi. 

Arrangements were underway to assist them return to their respective hometowns in Telangana. The eight people went there for business, research and other purposes. 

Besides, around 30 distress calls were received from people in J &K and Punjab. Most of the calls were from students. 

In view of the prevailing situation in the international border, the State government on Friday (May 9, 2025) asked people to To call phone numbers of officials at the Telangana Bhavan and a landline number: 011-23380556, 9871999044, 9971387500, 9643723157,  9949351270. 

‘Telangana Bhawan is also in constant coordination with the Government of India, receiving the latest updates and instructions regarding the ground situation and safety protocols. Close liaison is being maintained with district administrations of the border districts from where distress calls are being received. Support is being extended to help Telangana residents move to safer areas, in coordination with district authorities,”as per a press release issued on Saturday (May 10,2025) morning.
