TRICHY: The Head Post Office (HPO) in Melapudur in Trichy will conduct a special Aadhaar enrollment camp on New Year’s Day. Postal department officials said that corrections in existing Aadhar cards can also be made using the special camp.
For taking new Aadhaar cards for children, the post office has informed that original birth certificates and Aadhar cards of parents are needed.A new Aadhaar card will be provided free of cost. For changing the name, date of birth, and address, the camp will charge Rs 50. For changing photographs and fingerprints, Rs 100 will be collected. Birth certificates, PAN cards, voter ID cards, passports, and original mark sheets can be shown as proof of name and date of birth.
For changing addresses in the Aadhaar card, post office officials said that a bank passbook, life insurance certificate, and electricity, or water bills for the last three months can be provided. The Aadhaar enrollment centre in the Trichy HPO will function between 8 am and 8 pm on all days except Sundays and public holidays.
