Three junior clerks at the Kanpur collectorate were demoted to Class IV posts after failing to meet typing test standards, as they could not achieve the mandatory speed of 25 words per minute.

After failing the first time, their salary increments were stopped, and upon failing again, strict action was taken on the District Magistrate’s orders.
Premnath Yadav, Amit Kumar Yadav, and Neha Srivastava were appointed as junior clerks under the compassionate appointment quota.

As per rules, they were required to pass the typing test within one year. In the first test held in 2024, they failed to achieve the required speed, leading to a halt in their salary increments.

They were given another opportunity in 2025, but all three again failed to clear the test.

Following their second consecutive failure, District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh ordered their demotion.

Premnath Yadav, posted at the DM camp office, and Neha Srivastava and Amit Kumar Yadav, working at the collectorate, were reduced to Class IV employees.

After failing the typing test twice, the administration took strict action by demoting them.

Their initial appointments were under the compassionate quota, where the first failure led to a stoppage of increments, and the second failure resulted in demotion.
