Dhurandhar has been getting a strong response from the film industry ever since its release a week ago. And while the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar praised the film, fans had been waiting for Vicky Kaushal’s opinion. Vicky and director Aditya Dhar have had a long association as the two worked together in Uri, and later spent some time working on The Immortal Ashwatthama, which was eventually shelved. Vicky’s silence on the success of Dhurandhar was starting to raise some eyebrows but now, to silence the naysayers, Vicky has extended his support for the film.
Vicky took to his Instagram and wrote, “@adityadharfilms you beauty! What a mammoth task it must be for you and your team to pull off this film with such conviction, finesse and first rate world building… Hats off.” He also praised the film’s ensemble cast, adding, “Absolute PEAK PERFORMANCES! Technically Brilliant. Supremely engaging. Kudos to all the Dhurandhars involved.”
After Vicky posted, Aditya Dhar immediately took to his Instagram and reshared the story with the caption: “Thanks, Vikku! Tu bhi mere Dhurandhar hai. (You are also my Dhurandhar).”

This will only add fuel to the rumours that Vicky’s character from Uri may be connected to the Dhurandhar universe. After all, since its release, Dhurandhar has sparked growing online chatter about its possible connection to a larger spy universe Aditya Dhar is reportedly building. Fans have been drawing links to Uri, noting that Ranveer’s character, an Indian spy deployed in Pakistan, is named Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The name mirrors a reference in Uri, where a conversation between the characters played by Vicky Kaushal and Kirti Kulhari reveals that her character’s husband, Captain Jaskirat Singh Rangi, was killed in action during an operation.

Earlier this week, Hrithik Roshan also watched the film and praised its ingenuity and ambition, while simultaneously calling out its troubling political undertones, a remark that sparked backlash online. Posting on Instagram Stories, Hrithik wrote, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.” However, he quicky added, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”
