The Akhila Karnataka State-level ‘Shukla Yajurvedi Viprotasava’ convention will be held in Dharwad from October 12 to 15.
Addressing a press conference in Dharwad on Friday, president of the convention’s reception committee Shankar Bhat Joshi said that the convention would be held at Vidyabharati auditorium of the Sringeri Shankaracharya Mutt located in Yalakkishettar Colony in Dharwad.
Mr. Shankar Bhat Joshi said that the event would commence on October 12 at 4 p.m. pm with a Shobha Yatre, which would be inaugurated by Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi.
On October 13 at 10 a.m. a ‘Sahasra Modaka Maha Ganapati Homa’ would be performed and a formal formal inauguration of the convention at 11.45 a.m. by Vidyakanva Virajateertha Swami of the Madhavateertha Moola Samsthana, Yadgir. Dandapani Bhapu Deekshit will preside over the event.
Subsequently a symposium on the topic “Protection of Dharma and Culture” will be held, which will be followed by a discussion on “Nurturing our religious institutions and organisations” at 3:30 p.m.
On October 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, a meeting of public representatives would be held in the presence of Gurudattamurti Chidambar Chakravarti Swamiji amd Union Minister Nitin Gadkari would release a souvenir publication. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, Law Minister H.K. Patil and District In-charge Minister Santosh Lad would participate, he said.
On October 15 at 9.30 a.m., a Brahmin Welfare Conference would be held. At 11 a.m., Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamiji of the Sringeri Sharada Peetha would be given a ceremonial welcome. The valedictory session would be held at 4 p.m. he said.
