lindy west book adult braces

I’m reading Lindy West’s upcoming memoir Adult Braces, and her dispatches from an Eat-Pray-Love-style road trip makes me laugh out loud alone in my room. (No surprise there — remember her Beauty Uniform?). For example, when she goes to a doctor to talk about how to gently change her approach to food without participating in diet culture, the doctor suggests Wegovy. In response, Lindy writes one perfect sentence:

The emoticon is a lost art, but dare I say…linemouth???? 😐

dimple

While on a walk with his dad, Anton called to show me his newly discovered dimple. I loved it so much! At moments like this, I always think about how kids just want to be witnessed.

Marcello Hernandez talks about how much women support each other. It reminded me of this Onion headline and also the smart, funny, wonderful CoJ community. Thank you for being here. xoxo

What has made you smile or laugh lately? I’d love to hear…

P.S. Tell me three things you like, and I’ll recommend a book; and just a casual question: what do you think happens when you die?
