New developments have once again brought the high-profile disappearance of Nancy Guthrie back into the spotlight. It has been nearly a month since the 84-year-old vanished from her Catalina Foothills home, following a strange late-night incident outside the property. Subsequently, the authorities are keen to understand what transpired that night. Amid pursuing other leads for the suspected abduction, the cops had arrested a man outside her residence under unusual circumstances. Meanwhile, the officials have maintained that the arrest is not directly linked to the case.
Who was the “weird man” arrested outside Nancy Guthrie’s home under an alleged DUI charge?Â
According to a NewsNation correspondent, Brian Entin, an unidentified man was seen driving slowly past Nancy’s Tucson-area home late on February 26, 2026. Some witnesses who saw him claimed that he had circled the property “50 to 100 times” consistently. Additionally, he used to slow down near a memorial set up outside the house. Subsequently, some media persons stationed nearby found the behavior strange and suspicious.
Further, their doubts were fueled after a photographer among them claimed to have seen Nancy’s picture in his phone. The man has been identified as Antonio De Jesus Pena-Campos. He was the 34-year-old seen driving around in a blue vehicle. In Brian’s words:
“It’s probably nothing, but, like, it is weird. There are some, just like some creepy people that come by. Some weird people show up out here. There’s this guy in this car right here who literally drove by like 50 to 100 times, very slowly. It was just weird. He would go right by the memorial [outside of Nancy’s home], and he just kept stopping, literally 50 to 100 times tonight.”
According to the NewsNation correspondent, Antonio was later taken into custody after he failed a roadside sobriety test. Later, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department released an email statement about the same. However, the spokesperson confirmed that the 34-year-old had no connection to Nancy’s case. He also reiterated officials’ commitment to the case and revealed that they are refocusing their resources onon the detectives actively working on it. Since Antonio was charged with a misdemeanor Driving Under Influence (DUI) he is typically allowed for release on bail or citation following processing.Â

Antonio De Jesus Pena-Campos’ arrest comes at a time when the search for Nancy continues into its fourth week. Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos previously stated that evidence inside the home suggests she may have been taken against her will between 12:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on February 1, 2026. Meanwhile, some surveillance footage released earlier by the FBI showed a masked man with a backpack near the home during the suspected timeframe of the abduction, with a height of approximately 5’9″ to 5’10”. Likewise, the authorities and Nancy’s family are offering a USD 1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery. In turn, they have received more than 1,600 tips so far.Â

According to a source’s information to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, Savannah “gave Arizona everything she had” and may now seek stability and support for her children back home. Although there is no confirmation about the shoe, Variety reported that she might eventually return to her show as well. At the same time, the investigation into her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues in full swing.
