In the poster, Vijay sports a bulky physique and a jumpsuit while gripping heavy metal chains (well, it’s menacing!). For sure, his ‘angry man’ image is being mined for a film that seems to be transcending conventional commercial tropes. Vijay Deverakonda noted that the team is tackling an ‘intimidating task’ with this new film. Shouryuv, who previously directed the emotional hit, Hi Nanna, appears to be exploring a much darker side of his imagination.
The yet-to-be-titled film is clearly aiming for a global audience, and the makers themselves have hinted at it. The production has enlisted top-tier international talent to achieve this scale. Hollywood cinematographer Alejandro MartÃnez and acclaimed VFX supervisor Eric Durst are part of the core technical crew. Production design is being handled by Suresh Selvarajan. He is well-known for his work on films like Enthiran. At a time when films are expected to have a grand visual language, the crew is the perfect recipe.

Vijay’s ambitious choices
The film follows a trend of ambitious choices for Vijay. He recently worked on Kingdom, which married period action with a spy thriller vibe. His upcoming line-up is equally diverse. Ranabaali is expected to be a high-octane rural action drama (expect him to deliver some social messaging). Rowdy Janardhana is anticipated to be a mass entertainer with a strong character-driven plot. Fans are praising the actor for avoiding safe bets (on and off, he has raised the stakes since Arjun Reddy). By picking rare genres and collaborating with the younger crop of filmmakers, Vijay is cementing his reputation as a go-to guy for action movies.
