A thorough investigation into the case of suspicious death of a car driver, K. Suresh, 36, in Karimnagar last month led to unravelling of his murder allegedly by his wife along with five others including her alleged paramour, police said.
All the six accused in the murder case have been arrested by the Karimnagar Two Town police on Thursday. The police identified the arrested as K. Maunika, 29, wife of the deceased driver, A. Srija, 32, P. Shivakrishna, 27, D. Ajay, 28, N. Sandhya, 39, and N. Devadas, 49, all residents of Karimnagar.
Police said Maunika, who was in a relationship with Ajay, planned and executed the murder of her husband Suresh to get rid of him. She allegedly made a vain bid to kill Suresh by mixing Viagra and sleeping pills in food. But the conspiracy to kill her husband failed as the latter did not eat the food. In her second attempt, she allegedly strangled Suresh to death after giving him liquor mixed with BP and sleeping pills with the help of her ‘paramour’ and other accomplices on September 17, 2025.
Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam praised the Karimnagar Two Town police for cracking the case of pre-planned murder of the car driver.
